Juarez Edjuardo
Eduardo A. Juarez, NCC, LPC
I have been practicing counseling since 2001, beginning my career as a staff therapist with a community mental health center in Montgomery County and later moving on to join the Growth Opportunity Center in 2006. These past 17 years have prepared me to work with many different people with various and diverse issues. It was through these many years where I was able to begin to develop my own philosophies and views on counseling and working in a helping profession.
I treat people, not diagnoses. I individualize treatment based on a person’s needs. My approach is multidisciplinary with strategies that include psychodynamic modalities, the belief that our subconscious mind drives our behavior, and existential therapy, how confronting one’s ultimate concerns leads to greater understanding of the self. However, my primary approach is cognitive therapy, a problem-solving approach to better understanding behaviors and beliefs.
I utilize meditation and mindfulness to help people establish a mind-body connection in alleviating stress, depression and anxiety. I look to a person’s inherent strengths and skills to guide the treatment process. In instances where medication may be needed in conjunction with therapy, a referral will be made to a psychiatrist for an evaluation.
I encourage you to come in for a visit and begin your journey to better mental health.
