Rachel H Ascione, MA, PsyD
Rachel H. Ascione is a Clinical Psychologist with a concentration in couples and family. Rachel received her Masters of Arts at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ, and her Masters of Science at Chestnut Hill College.
At Growth Opportunity Center, Rachel currently treats individuals, couples, and families, as well as conducts psychoeducational testing.
Rachel is the founder and director of The Cpl. Ron Payne Military Family Center. The aim is to provide customized and culturally competent psychotherapy to military veteran couples and families. We are currently located at GOC and are accepting new clients.
Rachel’s areas of specialization: family therapy, couples therapy, therapy with military veterans, and their families.
Rachel’s past clinical experience includes working at Bloomfield Vet Center in Bloomfield, NJ. She conducted individual and group therapy with military veterans and their family members. Rachel has worked at Central Behavioral Health in Norristown, PA. She ran trauma groups, co-occurring support groups, and provided individual therapy to those with substance abuse and trauma. She has worked at GOC since 2017 and continues to treat individuals, couples, and families.
Rachel practices an integrative approach by combining systems-oriented therapy, psychodynamic therapy. Additionally, she uses cognitive-behavioral techniques to develop individualized treatment plans for each client based on their needs. Rachel practices from the Gottman method for couples and uses a collaborative approach when working with children and families.
