Sara Fried PsyD

Sara Fried, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and perinatal mental health certified psychologist working at Growth Opportunity Center. She received her Doctorate in Psychology and Master in Counseling and Clinical Psychology from Chestnut Hill College with a concentration in Psychological Assessment, and her Bachelor of Science in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. Sara utilizes a strong psychodynamic and trauma-informed approach with each client and is an advocate for multicultural inclusion in every aspect of her work. Sara enjoys working with children as well as adults for both individual and group therapy, and psychological assessment.
Currently, Sara has experience conducting psychological and neuropsychological assessments examining the intersection of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, personality disorders, learning disabilities, educational concerns, neurological strengths and weaknesses, ADHD, Autism, self-esteem, and more, all while interpreting these scores from a trauma-informed lens.
Working with new parents, pregnant individuals, and women’s health issues, Sara uses an attachment-focused approach to uncover how past experiences impact current circumstances. Sara has extensively studied the many impacts of trauma including disaster mental health, psychological first aid, and the traumatic impact disasters have on communities. Her research focus and passions include rural psychology, disaster mental health and first responders, as well as psychoanalytic studies on attachment, relationships, and perinatal and sexual health.
